    Hi,

    I’ve just bought a few days ago this theme. We had a Wix homepage before… I know. 🙂 But there, it was very easy to create a multi language version for the site. Now, with VW Startup Pro the english version is done, is there any way to create a full translation (Logos, Menus, Pages, Servies and the Cutomize module) for the theme? I hope so. 🙂

    Hi,

    Simple question: how can I translate eg. the Customizer \ Theme Settings \ Slider Settings \ Slide Text1? Polylang “Strings translations” menu doesn’t list it or any other theme related texts.

    Hi,

    I think I was ambiguous, I would like to translate my input values, not the captions. 🙂 Eg. my Slide Text1 value is “Something” and I would like to translate the “Something” text. How can I do this?

    For this also you need to create the .mo and .po files for this.

    Include the inputs which you want to translate in these files.

    Hi,

    .mo didn’t work for me with get_theme_mod(), but wpml-config.xml solved my problem. It would have been great if there had been such a file in the theme… saved several hours of work. 🙂

    Hi,

    For translating to any other language in WordPress, following are the few steps

    1)Firstly after creating po and mo file, you need to rename these files with their country code for reference (For Russian Language ru_RU.po) after that you need to put these both files in your language folder.

    2)Then you need to add country code in the wp-config file for reference (‘WPLANG’,ru_RU).

    3)Follow these below steps properly then your mo and po files will work.

    Hello,

    Thanks for answering. Let me know if i understand correctly. I install and activate the polylang plugin, i follow the steps you instructed with POEdit and then i upload the two files (.mo and .po) to the polylang plugin. This process will allow me to translate my site? I ask this because i want my site to be viewed in english and greek, but i am new to such procedures. Also, what name will i need to give the file and how do i add country code in the wp-config file? Sorry for rambling but could you also explain the additional translation functions (esc_html__, esc_attr__). I am interested in a simple translation.

    Hi,

    I am referring to the problem raised by Attis:

    The solution that vwtheme suggested “creating .mo and .po files” does not work, as this allows one to translate the customizer interface, but does not allow for translating the texts entered by the site owner, which eventually appear on the website”. I have also sent vwtheme support emails asking about this and they said “It is not a theme issue of language translation. It is an issue of the plugin which you are using”. However, I did not find free plugins that can do this job.

    Attis said: “wpml-config.xml solved my problem”. So I am asking, how can I create this file for the theme I am using vw-startup-pro.
    Without being able to translate translate these texts all VW Themes are useless to me and I will have to look elsewhere for themes that can be fully translated.
